Candice Woodward
Candice Woodward was one of the first female professional surfers from California. Candice competed in the Women’s International Surfing Association (W.I.S.A.) and was one of the California Golden Girls.
Candy starred in two National/International television commercials for RCA ColorTrak Television. Filmed by George Greenough, Leo Burnett Global Advertising Agency. Highlight – the first commercial was repeatedly shown during the 1981 World Series won by the L.A. Dodgers over the New York Yankees.
· Candy was one of the first female professional surfers to surf Tavarua Cloud Break 1981, 1984, and when Tavarua first opened, traveling there with Mark “Doc” Renecker and the Surfers Medical Association, to provide medical services for the local Villagers, 1986.
· National magazine ads featuring Candy surfing in RCA commercial – Life, People, Readers Digest, Time, Newsweek, Vogue.
· Candy was photographed in the South Bay by renowned British fashion and music photographer who turned professional sports photographer, Tony Duffy of The Allsport Agency. Photos of Candy surfing and on the beach in the South Bay were published in several European, Asian, and American photography, general interest, beauty, fitness and sports magazines.

· 1981 featured on full front page of the Tahitian newspaper “La DePeche” as a California professional female surfer enjoying the Tahitian lifestyle and waves with local surfers.
· Contributing writer to Wahine Magazine, a women’s surfing, snowboarding and water sports publication.
· Inducted into the Haggarty’s Surf Club, first female professional surfer, 2016.
· Candy’s first International Contest – WISA 1977 Malibu Hang Ten International Pro – a close 3rd place behind Lynne Boyer 1st, Margo 2nd
· 1979 San Diego WISA Championships – 1st place
· 1979 WISA Off Shore Women’s Pro – 3rd place
· 1980 Off Shore Huntington Beach WISA Pro Division – 1st place, California State Champion
· 1999 ROXY Wahine Classic – 4th place
